PhD Translational Fellowships equips PhD students interested in entrepreneurship with the tools needed to go from idea to real impact within the health technology field. You will develop practical skills to generate innovative solutions for the improvement of health and health care while broadening your network and receiving funding to take your idea to the next level.
This program provides PhD students with the necessary skills to identify needs related to their PhD project and convert their ideas into strong business cases that can attract investment using needs driven innovation methodology.
The project is promoted by the following 7 EIT Health Higher Education Partner institutions but it is open for candidates from any European Higher Education Institution:

What is EIT Health?
EIT Health is a Europe-wide network of health innovators, backed by the European Union. We offer expert education, innovation training and support to help European citizens live longer, healthier lives.
In the first phase, PhD students will have the opportunity to pitch their project detailing the problem it addresses.
The Candidates that come from one of the above mentioned institutions will have the opportunity to attend a pitch training workshop that will take place on the following dates:

Candidates coming from other European universities will have to record a 3 min pitch video that will be the basis for assessment for the jury to select 8 candidates.
Selected applicants will earn a 1.5k€ travel & accommodation grant to participate in the Training Camp at the University of Oxford on August 12-16 2019 along with other selected participants from across Europe. Adding to that, the selected candidates from one of the above EIT Health partner institutions will receive a 5,000 EUR grant towards the commercialization and further development of their idea.
During the training camp you will engage in lectures, workshops, and networking activities and the camp will conclude with a pitch competition with the participation of representatives of major industries and where the winners will receive cash prizes of up to 3,000 € in six separate prize categories.
